Air - There are regular flights between Palangkaraya, Banjarmasin, Pontianak and Samarinda, so it is comparatively easy and quick to move from one provincial capital to another.

Taxis - In big towns only. Meter-taxis are not yet in general use, but there are plenty of vehicles available with fixed fares for certain routes: e.g. airport to Town centre.

Becaks - Human-powered tricycle taxis for two passengers. Found in the bigger cities of Kalimantan.

Motorboats - As the land consists of rivers and jungles, these are available for hire by the hour.

Water Taxis - Small boats as well as ferries. They are the main means of transportation.

Klotok - A motorized longboat, which can be chartered to start trips up river trip. It is very a wonderful experience immersing onesself in jungle sounds when sleeping in a boat. There is also the 'Klotok Ambulance' providing health services to the hinterlands of South Kalimantan functioning as a mobile public health service.
